Let us go to the Book of Job.
(Job 1:6-13) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!” And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.”
Why did the Lord ask Satan if he has considered his servant Job? Because Satan is the tempter, the test for all mankind. Satan even tempted Jesus, during his forty days in the wilderness. (Matthew 4:6)
(We understand through scripture that forty days is a time for cleansing, purifying, and preparation. Elijah fasted for forty days after fleeing Jezebel (1 King 19:8) . Moses fasted for forty days on Mount Sinai before receiving the ten commandments (Exodus 34:28). During the days of Noah when God cleansed the earth, the rain fell for 40 days (Genesis 7:12). )
The exact test we must overcome to move on to the next level, is Satan. In grade school a teacher must give their students that final test before they can move on to the next level. Jesus is our teacher and Satan is the exam. The exam can be hard, stressful, confusing and exhausting. But the reward is great.
Satan’s purpose will be fulfilled once the entirety of mankind has fulfilled the will of the Lord. The will of the Lord for all mankind is for him to live among his people. We shall call him our God, and he shall call us his people. (Revelation 21:3)
Satan is the merely the fire that turns the metal into gold. He is not worthy of our fear.
Pray with me dear reader.
Matthew 6:9-13 “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
This was the Model Prayer that Jesus Christ gave.
Remember dear reader whatever you may do, do it with love.
